Precautionary principle

Recommendations and tips for protecting ourselves against electromagnetic radiation.

Below is a list of tips and recommendations for ensuring the responsible use of new technologies. The aim is to take the opportune measures to reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Tips

These are some practices that we recommend in day-to-day activities.

  • Use the cell phone only for short conversations and preferably use the landline.
  • Make or receive calls in open spaces, and not indoors (basements, tunnels, garages, lifts, etc.).
  • Limit the use of cell phones inside cars, vehicles, trains, etc., as the metal structures of these elements provoke the rebound effect of microwaves inside the cabin (Faraday effect).
  • Limit or avoid the use of toys that use radiofrequencies, such as gaming consoles that use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi controls.
  • Avoid using Wi-Fi systems and if possible, use cable and optical fibre systems, as they are safer and more efficient.
  • Establish a safety distance of at least 1 m between the headboard of the bed and electrical sources (sockets, etc.), and always check the other side of the wall of the bed.
  • Limit as much as possible or avoid using what are known baby alarm systems, as they use technology similar to Wi-Fi phones.
  • Ask for cable Internet access services in hotels, libraries, parks, etc. and especially in places such as hospitals, clinics, government and public buildings, etc.
  • Check the correct operation of electrical ground connections in homes, to reduce the generation of atmospheric electrical fields.
  • Reduce or eliminate metal parts on beds and desks, as they act as electric conductors and may absorb and redirect atmospheric electromagnetic pollution.

We advise against the following.

These are some practices you should avoid in your day-to-day activities.

  • It is not advisable for children under 15 to use cell phones (development phase, growth of tissues and organs).
  • Cell phones are not toys, and children and babies must not play with them.
  • Do not leave your cell phone near your headboard, as it can interfere with brain functions at night. If possible, switch it off or put it as far away as possible.
  • Do not use your cell phone when it is being charged.
  • It is not advisable for people who are in a state of weakness or for pregnant women to use cell phones.
  • Do not put your cell phone near sensitive organs (heart, reproductive organs, etc.). Cell phones that are on continue to emit electromagnet radiation.
  • Do not install Wi-Fi routers (or Wi-Fi access points) in bedrooms.
  • Do not install electrical cables, sockets or terminal strips under beds, tables, chairs or sofas.
  • Do not rest portable computers or tablets on your abdomen or legs. It is best to use a table and maintain a safe distance.
  • Do not use Wi-Fi technology (keyboards, headphones, etc.). They emit at the same frequency as the Wi-Fi router.

Electromagnetic pollution affects all us. Protect yourself by using new technologies responsibly, applying the precautionary principle and using our Pranan devices.
